China and CEE countries enjoy a long tradition of friendship. The founding and development of the People's Republic of China benefited from valuable support and assistance from the people of CEE countries. The bond of friendship has withstood the test of time. The world has changed a lot in the past decades since, and the same is true for all our countries. Nevertheless, the relationships between China and CEE countries triumph over many challenges, keep powering ahead and are still going strong. The Chinese side attaches great importance to the China-CEEC cooperation. When President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Li Keqiang met with Prime Minister Victor Ponta, they all emphasized the importance of making good use of China-CEEC cooperation platform to promote more concrete results for the benefit of the peoples. The Chinese side hopes to establish links between the Chinese and CEE localities and businesses and open up more ways of collaboration through this meeting, to advance cooperation in trade and investment. We also hope to turn''' the national-level policies for cooperation into concrete results on the ground for greater sustainability and depth of our cooperation.

China-CEEC cooperation is an integral component of China-Europe relations. The enhanced cooperation between China and CEE countries contributes to the broadening and improvement of China-Europe cooperation and will enable further development of China-Europe relations on a more comprehensive basis. China supports the European efforts for integration and stands ready to work with the EU to deepen the comprehensive strategic partnership on the basis of mutual respect, mutual trust and win-win cooperation.

At present, China-CEEC cooperation is expanding towards all-around, multi-levels and wide-ranging direction, with great opportunities. The cooperation is of great potential with strong shared desire for cooperation. Among them, the economic and trade cooperation stands out as the most active and promising area. The CEE countries, with favorable geographical position, solid industrial bases and salient advantages in cost and quality of labor force, have maintained good momentum of economic development. China, as the largest developing country, is accelerating the transformation of economic development mode, expanding domestic demand, diversifying foreign trade market, and implementing enterprises "going out" strategy. The economies of China and CEE countries are excellently complementing each other with more and more corresponding points. Together with the CEE countries, China will continue to promote the China-CEEC cooperation by diversifying how and where we can work together in an innovative spirit. By enhancing the overall level of China's relations with CEE countries, we will be promoting a more stable and healthy China-Europe relationship as well.
